The building

The place of respect

A futuristic structure that is the Green Pea Manifesto

We imagined Green Pea as the most sustainable and beautiful building that we had ever seen. For a continuous search for beauty and also for a practical goal: we needed to be able to convey the values we believe, making them tangible and welcoming to people. So we could make the following words concrete: from duty to beauty.

The project developed by the architects Cristiana Catino and Carlo Grometto has done more: it has created a place with the features of a natural organism, like no other. A building that invites people to discover the world of sustainability, demonstrating its beauty. To sum up, visiting Green Pea is a bit like walking in our Manifesto

The architectural features

Green Pea has been designed as an innovative and resilient building, sustainable in every detail, allowing the building to breath, in harmony with human beings and with natural elements.

The building’s shell is made up of a steel rib and wooden sunshade slats: elements that create a weft into which vegetation, a true architectural material, is woven.

Green Pea’s is an additional facade: a roof garden that reduces the building’s environmental impact, bringing nature back to a former industrial area of Turin.

The 4 internal floors of the building are lit by natural light and characterised by the close relationship with the vegetation that surrounds and blends with the building.

A journey into sustainable values, balance between inside and outside, between container and content, between beauty and Respect.

Technological solutions

The Green Pea Building demonstrates the effectiveness of the production of energy through the use of renewable sources that ensure high efficiency and reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. In fact, the building is powered by geothermal wells, photovoltaic and solar panels, and elements for capturing wind energy and recovering kinetic energy

These energy solutions are made welcoming and expressive by the entire building. If you want to know more, you can find paths suitable for all ages in the GP Discovery Museum to discover how these technologies that we have found work in the most effective way, through examples you can see first-hand.
