Our Green points

The company was founded in Milan in 1932, originating in an encounter between Luigi Fontana, entrepreneur of plate glass, and Gio Ponti, the great 20th-century Maestro of Italian architecture, and with Pietro Chiesa, master glass artisan. Great artistic directors have contributed to our history, such as Max Ingrand and Gae Aulenti.

  2. Our lamps and furnishing are manufactured by the most skilled glassmakers and craftsmen of our territory. The production has always been strictly Made in Italy.

  3. Our history is distinguished by design objects that bring light into the living space. This timeless mission that is handed down from icons to new products, a link between generations.

  4. Glass, a 100% recyclable material, and precious metals are an integral part of our DNA. Natural, noble and precious materials that distinguish our brand and our productions.

  5. For some years now we have activated a process of re-edition and, in many cases, re-engineering of our most iconic lamps, to make them more efficient and with a lower energy impact with green light sources thanks to the use of LED.

The visions of artistic directors such as Gio Ponti and Pietro Chiesa, Max Ingrand and Gae Aulenti are embodied in the contribution of many designers who interpreted their times for almost ninety years. We invest time, resources and energy to support and train young talents in the design world.

  7. Our Research & Development Studio has always been researching the most innovative production processes that guarantee the lowest environmental impact while maintaining the excellence and the highest quality of the product.

What we offer in Green Pea

Our collection of decorative lamps made in glass and metal, express the new idea of beauty infused with light and transparency. Our products excel for their high level of craftsmanship, manual processing and use of precious materials. It was Gio Ponti’s idea to add the word Arte (“art” in Italian) to the original name of the company. Still now art remains the key to a brand identity that exists over and above each single serially produced object.
