Fontanafredda

Cellar of Barolo

Our Green points

  1. Respect for the land, a way of being and thinking, has resulted in us having 120 hectares of organic crops, and has fostered the idea of sustainability in all our growers. Many have begun – and some have already completed – the conversion and organic certification process, working with clean grapes, in compliance with our specifications, without herbicides or synthetic fertiliser. GRAPES
  2. At Fontanafredda we consciously reuse water, collected in our lake and purified with the help of the plant-based purification system in the village, so that it can be used and reused time and time again. WATER
  3. We have launched a project for the relamping of our facilities with a view to optimising energy consumption, reducing it by 30%. And by 2022, we are going to start building a green energy cogeneration and district heating plan. ENERGY
  4. The glass we use to bottle our wines is healthy, natural and 49% recycled. And it can be used and reused into infinity, reducing the extraction of raw materials from the environmen. GLASS
  5. We use closures made of renewable raw materials, like sugar cane. Our corks are made with plant-based material, recyclable and sustainable, with zero carbon footprint. CORKS
  6. We use labels made with recycled FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) paper. And this is also used for the boxes, which protect the environment while they’re protecting our wines. LABELS and BOXES
  7. Mobility is sustainable: our forklifts are electric, and we are using the first biomethane tractors in the vineyard. MOBILITY
