Our Green points

  1. Founded in 1973, Timberland is a global outdoor lifestyle brand, today part of VF Corporation, best known for its original yellow boot and a full range of footwear, apparel and accessories for people who value purposeful style and share the brand’s passion for enjoying and protecting nature.
  2. At the heart of the Timberland® brand is the core belief that a greener future is a better future. This comes to life through a decades-long commitment to make products responsibly, protect the outdoors, and strengthen communities around the world.
  3. Through circular product design, Timberland strives to achieve zero waste, working to wards zero impact. By sourcing all its virgin natural materials through regenerative agriculture, the brand believes it can push past net zero and have a net positive impact on nature.
  4. At Timberland, we hold ourselves accountable for what goes into our products and how they’re made. Here are some examples:
96.7% of leather used in all Timberland products comes from Gold or Silver rated tanneries by the Leather Working Group.
77.5% of cotton for our apparel collections is Certified Organic, Recycled or Fairtrade, of US origin or sourced as Better Cotton through BCI.
97% of our footwear is PVC free.
We’re working on even more now, Timberland’s goal is for all – natural materials used in its products to be sourced through regenerative agriculture.
  5. In nature, everything has a use and a reuse – nothing goes to waste. That’s how we think when we design. We use recycled materials that would otherwise go to waste. Today, 68% of footwear contains at least one ROR (Recycled, Organic or Renewed materials) content.
  6. It is essential to work together to improve the place in which we live and work. Timberland employees receive 40 hours paid time to serve in their communities and have donated since today more than 1.2 million hours.
  7. In pursuit of its net positive vision, Timberland has set two specific, measurable goals to achieve by 2030:
100% of products to be designed for circularity, and

100% sustainability is hard. Creating a net positive impact on the environment will be even harder. But it’s what we intend todo by 2030 taking inspiration from Nature itself, and its power to regenerate and reinvent. We know we’re part of the problem. But we look at the future believing we can giveback to the Earth more than we take. Our goal: source 100% of our natural materials from regenerative agriculture and design 100% of our products for circularity.
